The North of England Orchid Society has for over 30 years been closely linked to Tatton Park, which was once the seat of the Earls Egerton, now owned by The National Trust & managed by Cheshire County Council.

 A weekend of orchids will take place - with Sales from Many orchid traders during the 5th and 6th of June at the North of England Orchid Society Annual Show

In June 2010  The Tenants Hall will be the centre of a weekend of orchids, with orchid sales displays from many leading traders and supported by several other orchid societies during this two day Orchid Show, for images from the last show along with awarded orchids, see our annual show pages

All visitors to Tatton Park will enjoy the Orchid Show as a FREE  addition to a  Great Day Out with free access to the  many Orchid Society displays and orchid sales booths of the traders attending The North of England Orchid Society Annual Show,  as is usual awards for the best orchids in their classes will be given once again this year; along with Best Species Best Hybrid in show and separate similar awards made to plants on our own stand.

This 2 day orchid show takes place on the 5th and 6th of June, when Tenants Hall once again became the venue for our Annual Show, whilst entrance to this event is free, other charges for visiting Tatton Park may apply.

Orchid nurseries and societies  will gather together to  bring to the North West of England one of the largest displays of orchids you could find.

In addition to the various class awards, two perpetual challenge trophies will be given for the best species (won last year by Tina Stagg with a wonderful brassia verricosa)  and best hybrid ( won last year by Margaret Birk's Colmonara Jungle Monarch ) on our own display.

Not only will visitors admire the beauty of hundreds of orchids in full bloom, but they will  also be able to buy from a selection of orchids for sale to suit all tastes and pockets, from a simple and inexpensive houseplant to those hard to find plants for the dedicated orchid grower, and lots of advice for beginners as well.

This show is always held at Tatton Park the month before the RHS Flower show at Tatton, we have displayed at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show since its inception, winning several medals for our display of orchids; last year we were again honoured to receive a GOLD MEDAL and the trophy for the best display in the marquee - fourth year running for our display in the Societies Tent.  click here to view the 2009 display for last years Gold Medal winning display  click here to view

Did you know that orchids are the largest family of flowering plant life? There are over 30,000 different species, just a fraction of these was enough to fill the Tenants Hall Tatton Park with many massive displays of blooms for the enjoyment of those who visit us on the 5th and 6th June 2010
